How to fix Acer Predator Helios 300 Freezing / Stuttering issue
So recently I bought the new 2017 edition, acer predator helios 300 equipped with an i7 7700HQ and a GTX 1060. At the price point of $1300 with import tax, there isn't really any other computer below $1500 that is equipped with a full 6gb 1060 model. The build of the laptop is pretty neat, it does attract some finger prints but these can easily be cleaned the same way you clean a smudgy CD. One of the major issues with it though was the apparent random freezing and stuttering that occurred upon starting up. The solution is somewhat tedious but necessary to ensure the laptop is usable. Most Importantly: Don't update windows 10!!! Updating immediately after opening the laptop is a recipe for disaster, as the updates seem to conflict with the nVidia driver. The solution is to install the nVidia driver (from the acer website) immediately upon logging in for the first time.
